Sound for Dance
Based on the choreographer’s needs, I compose music that serves as the foundation for movement, using a synopsis and creative discussions to establish the world of the work, or I build sound around choreography that has already taken shape. In either approach, timing, texture, and transitions are developed to support the movement and the overall vision of the piece. Choreographers and I work until the sound and dance breathe together, a process that stays open and responsive, leading to work where sound and movement feel naturally intertwined. I have composed for dance works as short as five minutes, and as long as forty-five minutes. No matter the length, I love to use multiple sonic identities to tell a story and create a journey, showcased in my Dance Works Highlights.

Something Has Changed
As more women begin to break from the rigid Daily Ritual, their dissent is noticed and the men intervene. The score expands into full orchestra, solo instruments, voice, and percussion, creating an increasingly cinematic and chaotic sound as the established world begins to unravel.
Back In Line
The women continue to resist the world imposed upon them, as tensions between them and the men grow increasingly volatile. World percussion and rhythmic vocalizations create a driving foundation for the scene. Layered and competing rhythms build alongside the choreography, emphasizing its physicality and growing unrest.
Judgement Is Coming
The dissent escalates into accusation and trial as the women and the empathetic man face the consequences of breaking from the established order. The score uses intense middle eastern fusion to underscore the increasingly severe atmosphere of the trial.
Featured Production: SALEMÂ (2026)

For the original score, the choreographer wanted the world of SALEM to feel as though it could exist anywhere in the world and at any point in time. To create a musical language that could meet such a wide range, I avoided rooting the score in one specific place or period. Middle Eastern instrumentation, various world percussion, orchestral arrangements, vocal textures, and a wide range of solo instruments and combinations are woven throughout the piece. These sounds shift and blend from scene to scene, creating a score that can move between ritual, intimacy, conflict, fear, and resistance while still belonging to the same world.
SALEM is an original dance production by Gregory Hancock Dance Theatre inspired by the Salem witch trials, exploring conformity, fear, judgment, and the struggle for individual freedom.Â

around & back again (2025)Â
Exploring the push and pull of leaving and being left behind, "around and back again" flows with spirals and repeating movement. To capture that foundational movement, I composed lots of circular melodies and patterns, with breaks in repetition emphasizing the ways sounds can spiral out and break apart. Held together by an original melody, this piece is an emotional rollercoaster with a push and pull of its own.

The abundant awkwardness of the endless slog, and its lack of respite (2026)
Exploring the absurdity and exhaustion of modern hustle culture, this work also draws inspiration from Monty Python’s Ministry of Silly Walks. I blended driving synthesizers with unconventional percussion and playful sound effects to capture the tension between the seriousness of the themes of the work and the ridiculousness of the movement and expressions. Shifting rhythms, unexpected interruptions, and contrasting textures create a soundscape that moves between relentless momentum and moments of absurdity.

In The Wake (2024)
"In The Wake" explores the stages of grief and working through a traumatic event as a group. To emphasize this idea sonically, I focused on crafting what each stage of grief would sound like, which dictated the order of the sounds in the piece. Choreography inspired shifts changes in each section and transitions between them.
