Sound for Performance & Film
Sound for Film
My approach to composing for film begins with understanding the director’s vision. Through discussions about the work and references that help establish its direction, I begin developing a sonic world that feels connected to the story. Musical themes, instrumentation, and overall tone can grow from individual characters or larger ideas within the film, giving each its own identity as the narrative unfolds. I use these ideas to guide the score, allowing the music to evolve with the emotions and pacing of each scene. Sometimes the sound takes a more prominent role in shaping a moment, while other times it works subtly beneath the visuals. In either case, my goal is to create a cohesive experience where the music and sound design feel like a natural part of the storytelling.

Short Film, Sound Designer (2026)
Instead of a more standard melody/theme approach, the director requested that each character be represented by an instrument and that the overall style is that of a minimalist 1960's jazz bar. Percussion and bass act as supporting elements while the associated characters are accompanied by piano, saxophone, and clarinet.Â

Short Film Conceptual Redesign (2026)
This concept score approaches the film as a continuous ride, shaping pacing and atmosphere through shifts in texture rather than melodic development. Drawing on a blend of house-driven energy and 80s video game aesthetics, sections are contrasted with more lush, orchestral arrangements to reflect changes in environment. Harmonic progressions act as the primary driver, while simple, consistent melodies maintain cohesion. The introduction and reduction of percussion play a key role in defining momentum and space, allowing each transition to feel intentional and grounded
